Adding GDS to Microsoft Excel

Global Data Server can be accessed from Microsoft Excel using an Excel Add-in. Once this add-in is configured, you will be able to reference global data using Excel style formulas.

Microsoft Office XP, Office 2000 and other versions

  1. Download the addin file to your computer. A copy is available from http://www.fieldpine.co.uk/gds/FieldpineGlobalData.xll. This file can be placed in any location on your computer.

  2. Start Microsoft Excel.

  3. From the menu, select Tools and then Add-Ins...

  4. A screen similiar to the following should appear, press Browse to locate the AddIn XLL file on your machine.

  5. Using the Browse screen shown below, locate the file FieldpineGlobalData.xll on your machine, that you saved as part of step #1 above, and press OK.

  6. Press OK on the Add-Ins screen (shown in Step 3 above) and the installation is complete.

  7. A new menu option, Global Data will have appeared on your Excel menu. From this menu you can add and remove and servers you may have access too.
